Myofascial Massage

What is that?

Myofascial massage is a massage technique that works in depth by acting on the fascia of the muscle and on the structural aponeurosis, or rather on the resistant connective tissue, which covers the muscle bellies, joins them together and allows them to slide together.

How does it take place?

The myofascial massage makes use of various manual techniques with the aim of restoring the correct sliding and tensional state of the muscles and the connective tissue that covers them.

The myofascial massage will therefore consist of an initial global assessment of the body system and a subsequent energetic friction through the hand, knuckle or elbow of one or more specific points on the myofascial system near but also at a distance from the pain area. The friction has the purpose of dissolving the bonds that limit the movement of the myofascial system and the fundamental substance that guarantees the sliding of the connective bands.

What are the benefits?

Given that the myofascial massage aims to restore the correct sliding of the fascia and the limitation of mobility, once this restriction of the myofascial system is resolved, the body will return to its natural elasticity. The treatment is particularly suitable for athletes.

Who is it for?

Myofascial massage is particularly suitable for athletes in all cases of trauma or muscle and joint diseases. Very effective in restoring pain caused by excessive tension of muscles and connective tissue, it is particularly useful in those subjects who, due to their constitution or following bad postures, have decreased elasticity.

The myofascial massage is therefore also widely used for postural disharmony and scoliosis, or as a periodic treatment for preventive purposes: it is in fact an excellent toning massage of the tissue.
